Seeking Playground Volunteers!
Help support Sabin staff during recess 🛝
Ever ask your kid what their favorite class is in school? Most say recess.
And who can blame them? It’s a time to let loose, hang with friends from other classes, and play — whether hopping in the Gaga ball pit, swinging on the monkey bars, making up their own game, and more.
It’s also a time when things can get a little…challenging.
We need safe, familiar, trusted adults who kids can turn to on the playground during recess. If you’ve been looking for ways to engage deeply with the Sabin community, this is your chance!
Your job will be to:
⭐ Keep an eye out for conflicts and catch them before they snowball
⭐ Help maintain healthy boundaries
⭐ Remind kids of our community’s recess rules — we’ll teach you those during training
And yes, you can also play if you want to!
Ideally, we’re looking for volunteers to commit to the 10:30-11:30 am shift once per week. Once you’re on the schedule, we’ll get you trained. (If you want to help but can’t commit to a weekly shift, we could also use subs.)
Interested in being a fun playground parent while ensuring safety for all? Miranda Rake, one of our PTA volunteer coordinators, can guide you. Reach out with questions and/or available dates: miranda.rake@gmail.com or 503-803-7905. 🙌
Note: We’re no longer accepting recess volunteers through Sign-Up Genius.
