Dear Sabin Families,
The eighth annual RUN FOR SABIN SCHOOL is Friday, Sept. 27! This school-wide community “fun run” is Sabin’s largest fundraiser of the year, and our goal is to raise $30,000 to promote educational excellence and support the success of our Sabin Stars. LET’S DO THIS!
How does it work?
Students ask family and friends to sponsor their walk/run/roll at mybooster.com. Run for Sabin allows our school to tap into the generosity of family and friends near and far: aunts and uncles, grandparents, former roommates — even corporate matching. Every $5, $10, and $50 donation adds up! Fundraising is optional—this is a fun event that includes all students!
What do I do today?
Register your student on MyBooster.com This is the platform you can use to collect donations from friends & family members.
What happens on run day?
On 9/27, students will arrive at school as usual. At their class’s run time (see below), teachers lead them to the starting line. The music will be pumping, families will be cheering, and students will walk, run, and roll around the paved course
(¼ mile - south field), working at their personal pace. Parent volunteers will tally their laps as they go by.
Are there prizes?
All students will receive a free Run for Sabin t-shirt! Also, the class that runs the most laps will receive the coveted Run for Sabin engraved trophy and a pizza party!
Run times by grade:
Kinder and 1st 8:30-8:55 a.m.
2nd and 3rd 9:15-9:40 a.m.
4th and 5th 10-10:25 a.m.
Can families cheer and volunteer?
Yes! Families are encouraged to come cheer on students. If you are interested in volunteering, we need lap-counters, water-bottle helpers, and folks to stand out on the course to guide and cheer students. We will be sending out a sign up form for volunteer shifts very soon. If you are interested, please email us at volunteer@sabinpta.com or keep an eye out for volunteer sign up!
What are we fundraising for?
Run for Sabin covers the majority of the PTA’s annual budget, including giving teachers prepaid debit cards to choose classroom supplies and needs, supporting the Sabin School Garden, hosting community-wide events and family affinity nights, and much more.
